A Space for Joy: Dunbeath Playpark Transformation
Dunbeath playpark has undergone a complete refurbishment, transforming it into a vibrant space for play and exploration. This project was an ambitious undertaking, requiring immense effort, fundraising, and collaboration. In partnership with Dunbeath Community Centre, we worked diligently to secure funding through various sources, including grants and community contributions.
With the old equipment removed and new installations added, the refurbished playpark officially opened on September 7th 2024. This achievement is a testament to the dedication of everyone involved, and our heartfelt thanks go to Caithness Voluntary Group (CVG) and all the organisations who so generously supported this vital community enhancement.
Together, we have created a welcoming environment where children can thrive and enjoy outdoor play.

Guiding The Way: Improved Local Path Signage
In response to community feedback from our November 2022 consultation, we’re enhancing signage for key local paths in the Dunbeath area. With support from the Highland Council, new signs will be installed on several core paths, making it easier for everyone to explore and enjoy our surroundings. A special thank you to those who contributed by sharing local names and engaging with us on Facebook.

A Lifesaving Resource: Dunbeath North Defibrillator
At the March 2023 Dunbeath & Berriedale Participatory Grant Event, we successfully secured funding for a defibrillator to serve the northern region of Dunbeath village. This project is now complete, with the defibrillator installed on the exterior of The Bay for easy access in case of emergency. We’re grateful to everyone involved in making this vital life-saving resource accessible to our community.
